We understand that enjoying a good work/life balance increases your job satisfaction. And in turn, your ability to do your job well. We’re also aware that every person here has different commitments inside and outside of work. With a range of different working options, you’ll find one that suits you perfectly – no matter what your lifestyle.
Flexibility
For us, the quality of our work doesn’t depend on where we are. So, as a diverse organisation, we try to be flexible when it comes to location, and actively support flexible working.
Working options
- Flexi-time – most of our jobs allow you flexibility over your working day, and you can take up to one flexi-day per 4 week period
- Part-time working – depending on your role, you may be able to work part-day or part-week
- Job share – where a post is shared by two people, from 16 hours upwards
- Compressed hours – eg. working 37 hours over 4 days instead of 5
- Term-time only working – allows you to spend school holidays with your family
- Annualised hours – vary your working hours over the year to fit with your personal commitments
- Staggered hours – the chance to vary your start and finish times as part of a team
- Shift working / self-rostering – where you work at different points during the day and night (self-rostering is a self-managed approach to scheduling work)
- Home working – the chance to work from home, either permanently or ‘as and when’
- Work break – allows you to take time out for any reason and is available after 1 year of service, for a period of 1-3 years
- Mobile working / hot desking – depending on your role, there may be technology for you to work remotely, as well as a desk when you want to work from the office.
